lake dreaming

cover up - Elizabeth and James // bikini top - Victoria's Secret // bikini bottoms - Basta Surf
bracelets - Madewell, In God We Trust // knuckle ring - diy

Finally getting around to posting again after a little hiatus! (Sorry!)
But I just got to spend the most amazing weekend out in Lake Tamarack with the most fabulous group of people! I can not get over how magical of a place it was. I mean I can't believe I didn't know about it sooner! It's seriously only one and a half hours away from the city (what?!) but you feel like you are hundreds of miles away. It's so quiet and peaceful (except for our Saturday night Whitney dance party), I took so many naps.. in the forest! on a hammock! floating! in the lake! There is even an island to row to, where you can subsequently get yourself a fresh margarita, courtesy of our island neighbor friends. It truly is the most lovely place with the most welcoming lovely people. I could not have asked for a better weekend getaway!!
Must. go. back. soon.

a short situation

Kenzo printed culottes // Alma Culottes // Tess Giberson leather shorts // Zara cropped palazzo pants // Alexander Wang basketball shorts // Carven cut out shorts

It's starting to get REAL steamy over here, and the thought of wearing skinny jeans that will just end up sticking to your body is getting less and less appealing. All I want to do is show a little leg in slouchy drapey shorts. And while I'll always love a good pair of short shorts, never have the thought of culottes and bermuda shorts looked so good.
Looks like I have a shopping mission this weekend.

I always love exploring this city, but more recently I've oddly been drawn to abandoned buildings. Maybe it's the Domino Sugar Factory destruction/renovation that I walk past everyday.. who knows. Something about the decay is incredibly beautiful and intriguing, but at the same time it's so sad to see the history torn down and replaced by shiny new high rises.
And while this location isn't truly abandoned (it's a friend's rooftop/building in midst of renovation) it's always so fun to stumble upon beautiful gems like this one right in your own backyard. Can't wait to find more hidden treasures in this city!
And I mean.. what I wouldn't give to live in this loft (once it's done)!! ;)

tunic - H&M (similar, similar) // trousers - Giada Forte (love these) // sandals - Louis Vuitton
jewelry - Made Her Think, In God We Trust, Madewell
What can I say. It's my new mantra. Create, create, create. Maybe it's because Summer's right around the corner, who knows. But I have to say I've been super inspired as of late to create anything and everything. Creating new goals, creating new diy projects, creating interesting content, and (hopefully) creating new opportunities. :)

Today I kept things pretty sleek and simple. Wearing a great pair of perfectly fitting lightweight trousers (that I have been obsessed with) and a sheer button up tunic dress. Kinda been loving the dress over pants situation and this button up looks amazing over everything.

Couldn't be happier for the weekend! Hope you enjoy yours!!
